Gaming industry announces several major titles for 2026 and 2027 release
Several major video game announcements have been made regarding upcoming releases for 2027.
Shueisha Games announced ‘Houshin Engi Gyakumei Shoten’, a roguelite action game celebrating the 30th anniversary of the ‘Houshin Engi’ manga. Featuring new characters drawn by original creator Ryu Fujisaki, the title is slated for release on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Steam.
Justdan International revealed ‘Tianji: Shadow of the Ancients’, a turn-based RPG set during the Tang Dynasty. The game, which features a combo-driven combat system and ink-wash inspired visuals, is scheduled for 2027 on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. It will support English, Japanese, and Chinese languages.
Sunsoft announced ‘SUNSOFT is Back! Retro Game Selection 2’, a collection of four classic Famicom titles: ‘Ikki’, ‘The Mystery of Atlantis’, ‘Super Arabian’, and ‘Maharaja’. The collection, which includes modern features like save and rewind functions, is set to release on December 17, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
