Tianjin and Tainan push smart robot industry initiatives

On July 30, Tainan City Government hosted the third session of its 2026 Smart Robot Industry Seminar at the Shalun Green Energy Technology Demonstration site. The event focused on smart logistics and agricultural robots, featuring talks on vertical‑farm automation, autonomous mobile robots (AMR), and large‑scale deployment in commercial settings. Speakers from industry and academia highlighted AI‑driven solutions for precision agriculture and outdoor service robots, showcasing applications in farms, golf courses and corporate campuses.

The same day, Tianjin municipal authorities held their 112th executive meeting, chaired by Mayor Zhang Gong. The council approved the "Tianjin Smart Robot Industry Innovation Development Action Plan (2026‑2028)" and emphasized robotics as a priority sector in the 15‑year national strategy. Officials called for stronger industry‑university‑research collaboration, increased financial support, and accelerated construction of key projects to boost the city’s robotics ecosystem.
