Tibetan Exile Community Holds Candlelight March in Dharamshala

More than 1,000 Tibetans in exile gathered in Dharamshala, India, for a candlelight march marking one month since Lobga Rangzen self‑immolated outside the United Nations headquarters in New York. The procession began in McLeod Ganj and concluded at Bhagsunag, with participants including members of the Tibetan Parliament‑in‑Exile and senior officials of the Central Tibetan Administration.

Speakers such as Karma Yeshi, chairman of the Public Service Commission of the Tibetan government‑in‑exile, Wangdue Dorjee, a parliamentarian, and former parliamentarian Namgyal Dolkar paid tribute to Rangzen, described him as a martyr, and urged the United Nations to address the Tibet issue. The march reiterated demands for a free and independent Tibet and highlighted Rangzen’s self‑immolation as a call for complete independence.
