Tichina Marshall sentenced to 12 years for stabbing Wendy’s co-worker
Tichina Marshall, 29, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the attempted first-degree murder of a co-worker at a Wendy’s in Danville, Illinois. The sentence, handed down by Judge Karen E. Wall, also includes three years of mandatory supervised release. Marshall is required to serve 85 percent of her prison term.
The attack occurred in May at a now-closed Wendy’s location. Surveillance footage captured Marshall entering an office area and telling the victim, “I am going to kill you,” before stabbing them in the face and head. The victim suffered a fractured skull and a deep stab wound, leaving them nearly unconscious and bleeding uncontrollably on the floor.
Prosecutors noted that Marshall had threatened to kill the victim approximately one month prior to the assault. Vermilion County State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy stated that the sentence reflects the “violent nature of this attack and the devastating injuries suffered by the victim,” while acknowledging that no sentence can undo the lasting effects of the incident.
