Lake Trasimeno rescue: Two people saved after kitesurfing accident

Two people were rescued after a nautical accident on Lake Trasimeno caused by sudden and strong wind gusts. The incident occurred during conditions that initially appeared suitable for kitesurfing, but shifting winds and treacherous gusts left the individuals stranded.

One victim, a foreign woman approximately 50 years old, was discovered clinging to commercial fishing poles. She was rescued by Giorgio Brusconi, a local lake expert, who brought her aboard his vessel. Brusconi then proceeded to the center of the lake to locate the woman's husband, who was struggling on his kitesurf sail. Following the rescue, both individuals received medical attention from emergency services and were transported to the hospital in Perugia for treatment of their injuries.
