Ticino Val Grande Verbano to host 2027 UNESCO MAB meeting

The Ticino Val Grande Verbano Biosphere Reserve has been selected to host the VIII National Meeting of UNESCO MAB (Man and the Biosphere) Biosphere Reserves in 2027. The decision by the national technical committee recognizes the collaborative efforts between the Piedmont and Lombardy regions.

Marina Chiarelli, the Piedmont Regional Councilor for Culture, described the selection as a significant opportunity to showcase the natural and cultural heritage of the territories. The reserve spans both regions, uniting diverse landscapes, biodiversity, and traditions. This announcement follows the States General of MAB UNESCO territories held in Stresa in September.
