Ticket frenzy for Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” hits India and UK

In India, advance bookings for the IMAX and premium-format screenings of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic The Odyssey opened on June 8, 2026. Premium recliner seats in major metros such as Mumbai, Delhi, Pune and others were priced between ₹3,000 and ₹3,300, and many of the best‑priced slots sold out within hours, prompting a resale market and widespread discussion about the high cost of an “event‑viewing” experience.

In the United Kingdom, the British Film Institute’s online ticket‑selling system malfunctioned on the day tickets for 70 mm IMAX showings went on sale. Fans reported being moved from the front of the virtual queue to the back, some losing their place after waiting up to two hours. The BFI later apologized, restored the system and advised customers to seek alternative venues such as the Science Museum’s IMAX screen.
