TIE and Vodacom partner to boost digital education in Tanzania

The Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) and the Vodacom Tanzania Foundation have partnered to enhance digital education through the Continuous Professional Development Program (TCPD/MEWAKA). This initiative aims to improve teaching proficiency and student performance by integrating modern technology into the classroom.

A key component of this collaboration is the strengthening of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and the development of Teachers’ Resource Centres (TRC). The first of 50 planned centers was officially inaugurated at Naurei Primary School in the Arumeru District of Arusha.

Arumeru District Commissioner Neema Lugangira noted that investing in teachers through ICT and improved infrastructure is a direct investment in the nation's future, highlighting the importance of public-private partnerships in improving educational quality.
