Tiefenbronn schedules mayoral election for January 31
The Tiefenbronn municipal council has set January 31 as the date for a new mayoral election. The vote follows the death of former mayor Frank Spottek, who passed away after a long illness.
Applications for the position are being accepted until January 4, with a public presentation of candidates scheduled for January 18 in Mühlhausen. If no candidate achieves an absolute majority in the first round, a runoff election will be held on February 21.
The administration secured a deadline extension from the Enzkreis district office to allow for better organization and to avoid scheduling the vote during the Christmas or New Year period. The municipal election committee, led by deputy mayors Stefan Kunle and Jan-Hendrik Siart, will oversee the process.
