Tiepolo’s ‘Il Giudizio Finale’ arrives at Castello di Udine

Giambattista Tiepolo’s monumental painting, ‘Il Giudizio Finale’, is on display at the Castello di Udine as part of the ‘L’Ospite Illustre’ exhibition. The artwork, from the Gallerie d’Italia – Intesa Sanpaolo collections, will be exhibited in the Aldo Rizzi Room from October 10, 2026, to January 17, 2027.

The exhibition features a dialogue between the visiting masterpiece and works already held by the Civici Musei, including ‘La Virtù e la Nobiltà trionfano sull’Ignoranza’, ‘San Francesco di Sales’, and ‘Angelo Custode’. This collaboration between the Municipality of Udine and the Intesa Sanpaolo Group involves an exchange of works; simultaneously, the Tiepolo painting ‘Consilium in arena’ will be exhibited in Vicenza.

The project was conceived by Linda Borean of the University of Udine and is curated by Fabio Franz. It is supported by the ‘I Luoghi dei Tiepolo’ network, the University of Udine, and the Fondazione Friuli.
