TIER IV joins OIN 2.0 to advance open-source software-defined vehicles

TIER IV has joined OIN 2.0, an expanded patent non-aggression framework managed by the Open Invention Network. This move is intended to advance the development of open-source software-defined vehicles (SDVs).

As part of its efforts in the autonomous vehicle sector, TIER IV is also collaborating with Renesas Electronics Corporation to develop an AI-native computing platform for SDVs. Additionally, the company has joined the Next-Generation Edge AI Semiconductor Research and Development Program, led by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), to research software-defined system-on-chip (SoC) technology for Level 4 autonomous driving.
