Tierra del Fuego announces provincial volleyball and cycling selections

Tierra del Fuego has finalized several provincial sports selections as part of regional athletic development programs.

In beach volleyball, the provincial champions for the Juegos Fueguinos 2026 were determined in Río Grande. In the women’s category, Sofía Cocheri and Victoria Martínez secured the title after winning their matches without dropping sets. Sol Morandi and Maitena Verdina took second place, while Renata Guillén and Martina Mazza finished third. In the men’s category, Lautaro Nicolás Ríos and Juan Ignacio Zárate were named champions.

In cycling, the provincial selection for the 2026 Juegos de la Araucanía was finalized at the Carlos Romero racetrack in Tolhuin. Following individual time trials and peloton tests, eight athletes were chosen to represent the province in Chile. The male representatives include Máximo Pintos, Thiago Anriques, Lucca Lepio, and Sharon Lepio, with Nehemías Echeverría as an alternate. The female team consists of Tiziana Pastori, Uma Machado, Yasmin Benavides, and Melani Aguilera, with Brisa Duarte serving as an alternate.
