Tierra del Fuego concludes 2026 Fueguino Games for Older Adults

The provincial stages of the 2026 Fueguino Games for Older Adults have concluded in Río Grande, Tierra del Fuego. The event featured competitions in Newcom, Tejo, Table Tennis, and Chess, bringing together participants from Ushuaia, Tolhuin, and Río Grande.

In Chess, the provincial final held at the Río Grande Creative Polo determined the champions and selected the team to represent Tierra del Fuego at the upcoming National Evita Games. In Table Tennis, Edith Igor and Mirta Osorio won the Women's Doubles, while Graciela Quelín and Francisco Cano took the Mixed Doubles title. Hugo Romero and Rosamel Gómez from Ushuaia were crowned champions in the Men's Doubles.

Newcom and Tejo competitions took place at the Río Grande Microestadio Annex. The HDP (Hijos del Poder) team from Río Grande secured first place in Newcom, followed by IMD from Ushuaia and Pioneros from Tolhuin. In Tejo, Carmen Ortiz and Rosa Benítez won the Women's category, while Anselmo Chamorro and Luis Navarro won the Men's category, both representing Río Grande.
