The Tierra del Fuego Legislature held its fourth ordinary session of 2026 on October 1, marking its return to activity after a four-month hiatus. The session, presided over by legislator María Victoria Vuoto, addressed several high-priority economic and social matters.

A central item on the agenda is the Comprehensive Financing of the Educational System project (Matter 519/26). Submitted by the Executive Branch with urgent status, the project has been referred to the Education and Economy commissions. The initiative aims to establish resource distribution for salaries, infrastructure, and technology following previous teacher salary conflicts.

Additionally, the legislature is set to discuss the 2027 General Budget of Expenses and Calculation of Resources, which will define provincial financial planning for the upcoming year. Other legislative items include a proposed differential retirement regime for healthcare workers.
