Tierra del Fuego Ombudsman selection process faces transparency allegations

A public hearing was held in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, as part of the selection process for the province's new Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents. Representatives from the Municipality of Tolhuin attended the session to support the creation of the institution and emphasize the importance of territorial experience in protecting the rights of minors.

However, the selection process has faced significant criticism regarding transparency. Reports indicate irregularities during the competition managed by an ad-hoc commission led by Victoria Vuoto. Allegations include the failure to publish examination results, the withholding of candidates' curricula vitae, and the implementation of changing regulations that allegedly favored specific candidates, hindering the principle of equal access to public office.
