Cristo Redentor pass reopens as regional road works and infrastructure updates continue
The Cristo Redentor pass, connecting Argentina and Chile, is set to reopen to all vehicle types this Friday following closures caused by adverse weather. The border crossing will return to winter hours, operating from 9:00 to 21:00 in Argentina and 8:00 to 20:00 in Chile. Authorities have implemented traffic controls in Uspallata to manage the flow of vehicles.
In Paraguay, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has announced significant traffic diversions and two-way circulation on the Silvio Pettirossi Highway and Elizardo Aquino Avenue (Tape Tuja) through Sunday. These changes are due to construction work on the Las Residentas road corridor, including the installation of concrete structures for a new viaduct and drainage systems in Luque.
In Mexico, new road infrastructure in the San Luis Potosí metropolitan area has successfully withstood recent heavy rains. The Circuito Potosí and Avenida de las Torres underpass, along with the new Alternate Route designed to relieve traffic from Highway 57, remained fully operational without flooding or significant water accumulation.
