Puebla implements security and technology upgrades for schools

The Government of Puebla, led by Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier, has announced a comprehensive security and technological strategy for the 37 campuses of the Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Puebla (COBAEP). The initiative includes connecting surveillance cameras to the C5 monitoring center, installing neighborhood alarms, and increasing police patrols during student arrival and departure times to prevent crime.

In addition to security measures, the state is investing in educational modernization. Through the 'Universidades con Aulas Más Modernas y Mejor Equipadas' program, the government delivered 30 screens to the Universidad Politécnica de Amozoc (UPAM). Furthermore, the 'Obra Comunitaria' program aims to allocate approximately one million pesos to each university and technological institute to support student-led technological development projects, such as the creation of electric wheelchairs.

These actions are part of a broader effort to link academic training with the region's growing economic sectors, including robotics, mechatronics, and advanced manufacturing, particularly in relation to the San José Chiapa Economic Development Pole.
