Tiffani Thiessen reports ‘Saved by the Bell’ residuals have become negligible
Tiffani Thiessen, star of the 1990s sitcom ‘Saved by the Bell’, has revealed that her residual payments for the series have diminished to the point of being effectively ‘negative’. During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, the actress noted that the checks are so small they may cost more to print than their actual value.
Thiessen expressed frustration over the lack of financial return despite the show’s enduring cultural impact and widespread use on merchandise. She noted that the original cast did not receive significant compensation during the show's initial run, stating, “We made nothing and we just did our job.”
Co-star Mario Lopez responded to the news on social media, offering support for Thiessen’s transparency regarding actor compensation. Other cast members, including Mark-Paul Gosselaar, have previously shared similar experiences regarding inadequate syndication deals and minimal residual checks.
