Tiffany Low's Organic Minimalist House Blends into Mallorca Landscape

Architect Tiffany Low of Studio Low Profile designed a four‑pavilion residence in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, Mallorca, that integrates seamlessly with the existing olive groves, centuries‑old dry‑stone walls and an old mule path. The project follows local zoning rules that require building at the lowest part of the site, turning the restriction into an opportunity to step back from the landscape and let it become the primary client.

Low’s design consists of four rectangular pavilions linked by a wide corridor, each offering distinct views of rocky walls, olive trees, a distant valley and the horizon mountains. As Low explained, “the three essential elements were the landscape, the existing stone walls and a small rural building that guided the volumetric treatment of the house.” The result is a minimalist home that frames nature rather than dominates it.
