Asian Games 2026: Malaysia secures multiple golds in karate and e-sports

At the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, Malaysian athletes secured multiple gold medals across various disciplines. Adeola Fay Robert won gold in the women’s under-55kg kumite karate event, defeating Iran’s Fatemehzahra Saeidabadi 6-4 in the final. C. Shahmalarani also secured gold for Malaysia in the women’s under-50kg kumite event, overcoming Hong Kong’s Tsang Yee Ting via judges' decision. Additionally, Taj Izrin Aiman Taj Madira achieved a historic gold medal for Malaysia in the Gran Turismo 7 e-sports competition.

Singaporean athletes also saw success at the games. Maxine Wong earned a bronze medal in the women’s individual foil fencing event after reaching the semi-finals and losing to Japan’s Yuka Ueno.
