TİGEM holds wheat and chickpea auctions at Gaziantep Commodity Exchange

The Gaziantep Commodity Exchange (GTB) hosted auctions for agricultural products produced by the Ceylanpınar Agricultural Enterprise under the General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM). The auctions featured the 2026 harvest, totaling over 15,000 tons of wheat and 20 tons of chickpeas.

The wheat, amounting to 15,411.44 tons, was offered in 31 separate lots through an auction process. A second auction was held for 20 tons of chickpeas, offered as a single lot.

Mehmet Akıncı, Chairman of the Board of GTB, stated that hosting these auctions reinforces Gaziantep’s position as a major hub for agricultural trade. He noted that the city’s industrial infrastructure and trading networks allow it to direct commerce across a wide geography, ensuring products are valued under competitive and healthy market conditions.
