Tiger shark caught off Island Beach State Park

A tiger shark, estimated to weigh between 700 and 800 pounds and measuring approximately 12 feet in length, was caught off the coast of Ocean County.

The encounter occurred outside of a guarded area at Island Beach State Park. Following the catch, fishermen released the shark back into the water.
