Tiger Stadium implements drone ban for LSU football games

Law enforcement agencies have announced a ban on drones over and around Tiger Stadium during all LSU home football games this season. The restriction is in effect from one hour before kickoff until one hour after the conclusion of each game.

The ban is enforced through both Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and Louisiana state law. Under FAA temporary flight restrictions for Division I football games, drone and model aircraft operations are prohibited within a 3 nautical mile radius and up to 3,000 feet above ground level.

Louisiana law grants authorities the power to use detection, tracking, jamming, hacking, or physical capture to intercept drones that pose safety threats or violate laws. Violators face potential seizure of their equipment, fines of up to $4,000, and imprisonment for up to two years.
