Tiger Woods fuels comeback speculation with practice footage
Tiger Woods has sparked renewed interest in a potential return to professional golf after footage surfaced of him practicing at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club in California. The video, shared by his social media account TGR Live, shows the 15-time major champion hitting shots during a visit to the area for events related to his charitable initiatives, including the TGR Junior Invitational.
Woods has not competed in an official tournament since the British Open in July 2024. His recent activities follow a period of physical recovery and legal proceedings stemming from a driving under the influence charge in Florida. Having recently reached a plea agreement on a lesser charge, legal obstacles to his competition status have been addressed.
While the footage has led to speculation regarding a return at next summer’s U.S. Open at Pebble Beach or year-end exhibition events like the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, Woods has not officially announced a competitive comeback.
