Tiger Woods potential return date announced for TGL season opener

Tiger Woods may return to competitive golf on December 27 during the opening match of the TGL’s third season. Reports indicate that Woods is expected to play for the Jupiter Links Golf Club in a rematch against the defending champion, Los Angeles Golf Club, at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Woods has not competed since March 2026, having participated in only one TGL match during that season due to back surgery. His last appearance in a PGA Tour tournament occurred in 2024. The December 27 doubleheader will also feature Brooks Koepka’s Motor City Golf Club facing Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf.

While his participation in the TGL opener has not been officially confirmed, teammates have suggested Woods intends to compete more frequently in the upcoming season. Other potential appearances for the 50-year-old include the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas and the PNC Championship, where he has been granted permission to use a cart.
