Tigre Hosts Argentina's National U23 Athletics Championship with 450+ Athletes

The Abel Acevedo Municipal Track in Tigre's Polideportivo Nº 2 hosted the Argentine National U23 Athletics Championship, drawing more than 450 athletes from across the country over two days. The competition served as a qualifier for the South American U23 Championships scheduled for August in Santa Fe.

Local officials, including municipal Subsecretary of Sports Natalia Gómez, praised Tigre’s ability to host the event. Champion sprinter Julieta Telias highlighted the high‑quality track and her personal performance. The tournament featured a full range of events—sprints, middle‑distance races, jumps, and javelin throws—and was complemented by the Feria Origen Tigre market and the Mujeres Emprendedoras program, showcasing local artisans.

The championship also functioned as an evaluation stage for athletes preparing for the ODESUR Games and the U20 World Championships in Oregon, United States.
