Tigre hosts first inter-school chess tournament

The Municipality of Tigre organized its first inter-school chess tournament for teams, held at the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional Microestadio in General Pacheco. The event involved more than 300 students from various primary and secondary schools across the district.

Mayor Julio Zamora attended the competition, noting that chess has seen sustained growth in the region, with over 13,000 residents participating through the Municipal Chess School. The tournament followed a five-round format and aimed to promote community integration and social learning among students, families, and teachers.
