Huracán defeats San Lorenzo 2-0 in historic derby win
Huracán defeated San Lorenzo 2-0 in the Clásico Porteño at the Nuevo Gasómetro during the fourth round of the 2026 Torneo Clausura. Ecuadorian striker Jordy Caicedo was the standout performer, scoring both goals—one just before halftime and another in the second half.
The match was marked by high tension and physical play. Following Caicedo’s second goal, he celebrated with a “Topo Gigio” gesture toward the local stands, sparking a confrontation between players. During the ensuing scuffle, San Lorenzo goalkeeper Orlando Gill was sent off with a direct red card after the VAR reviewed an incident where he headbutted defender Lucas Blondel.
This victory marks Huracán’s first win at the Nuevo Gasómetro in 25 years, a streak dating back to December 2001. The result moves Huracán to seventh in Zone B with seven points, while San Lorenzo remains in a difficult position in Zone A with only three points.
