Tigre youth lead volunteer aid at Refugio Municipal “Mama Antula”

Young volunteers from the non‑profit Fundación Forge, together with municipal officials in Tigre, organized a day of assistance at the Refugio Municipal “Mama Antula”. Participants delivered coats, hygiene items and non‑perishable food, toured the shelter with the city’s Youth Directorate and discussed the municipal Winter Emergency Programme. Subsecretary of Promotion Social Marcelo Marina highlighted the exchange of ideas and the role of the activity as a practical conclusion to a job‑training course.

Similar community‑aid actions were reported across the region. In Chascomús, 22 volunteers removed nearly 21 tonnes of waste from the lagoon during the “8vo Lagunazo” event, emphasizing zero‑waste goals and citizen‑science data collection. In the Venezuelan state of Zulia, Governor Luis Caldera and First Lady Roselyn López de Caldera handed out mobility aids to 110 vulnerable residents and announced follow‑up medical‑supply visits. Mexico’s DIF Altamira, led by President Rossy Luque de Martínez, delivered 13 wheelchairs, food parcels and transport support to families in need. These initiatives illustrate a broader wave of local social‑service projects aimed at improving living conditions for disadvantaged populations.
