Tigres continues search for new head coach after Schelotto denial

Tigres continues its search for a new head coach nearly a month after the departure of Guido Pizarro. The club currently sits in 16th place in Liga MX and is looking to stabilize its performance for the Apertura 2026 tournament.

Guillermo Barros Schelotto has addressed rumors regarding his potential arrival, stating that the matter is “tema terminado” (a finished subject). This effectively removes the Argentine, who is currently under contract with Vélez Sarsfield, from the immediate selection process.

With Schelotto largely ruled out, the club's management is reportedly considering other candidates. Quique Setién, the former Barcelona manager, is noted for his immediate availability. Other names linked to the position include Óscar Pareja and Juan Carlos Osorio, though reports indicate negotiations with Osorio have faced complications.
