Tigres del Escogido struggles with pitching in LIDOM

The Tigres del Escogido have maintained a .500 record through their first eight games (4-4) in the Dominican Winter League (LIDOM), largely due to an exceptional offense led by Ramón Santiago. However, the team is facing significant challenges on the mound, recording the worst pitching performance in the league with a collective ERA of 6.34, compared to the league average of 5.01.

The team's starting rotation has struggled with durability, pitching only 21.1 innings with a 7.17 ERA. This has placed an increased burden on the bullpen, which holds a 5.98 ERA, the second-worst in the league. While pitchers like Reid VanScoter and Kelly Austin have provided positive performances, others such as Luis Guerrero, Aneurys Zabala, and Patrick Halligan have struggled to contain opponents.

Despite these pitching difficulties, the Escogido offense has produced 48 runs, including high-scoring performances against Licey, Gigantes del Cibao, and Águilas Cibaeñas. The team currently holds third place in the standings.
