Tigres del Licey announces new international pitching reinforcements

The Tigres del Licey have announced two major international reinforcements for the 2026-27 LIDOM season.

American right-handed pitcher CJ Van Eyk, a prospect within the Toronto Blue Jays organization, will join the team. Van Eyk, 27, has experience in Major League Baseball and currently plays for the Buffalo Bisons. He was ranked as the 18th prospect in the Toronto system in 2024 and possesses a repertoire including a four-seam fastball, sinker, cutter, curveball, and changeup.

Additionally, the club has signed Daniel Martínez, a 28-year-old right-handed pitcher from California. Martínez joins Licey following a standout season with the Toros de Tijuana in the Mexican Baseball League (LMB), where he led the league with a 1.94 ERA. His pitching arsenal consists of a four-seam fastball, cutter, slider, and changeup.
