Tigres nears agreement on new head coach

Tigres is in the final stages of negotiating with a new head coach to replace Guido Pizarro. Sports Vice President Gerardo Torrado stated that the club has conducted an exhaustive search to find a manager capable of providing long-term continuity to the project rather than a short-term solution.

While Hernán Elizondo currently serves as the interim manager, the club is also looking to finalize a deal for a new center forward, pending approval from the incoming coach. Additionally, the club is open to analyzing offers for player Juan Brunetta.

Speculation has linked Argentine manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto, currently with Vélez Sarsfield, to the position. Although Tigres' operational vice president, Carlos Valenzuela, has reportedly traveled to Argentina to advance talks, Vélez Sarsfield officials have dismissed the possibility of his departure. A high-ranking official from the Argentine club stated that Schelotto is focused on his current role and that his contract does not include a release clause for other clubs to execute.
