Tihea Topolovec wins bronze medal at Judo Grand Prix in Lima

Croatian judoka Tihea Topolovec won a bronze medal in the under 52 kg category at the Grand Prix tournament in Lima, Peru. This marks her first medal at a Grand Prix level competition.

Topolovec secured her place on the podium by defeating Peru's Brillith Gamarra in the bronze medal match. She opened the bout with a decisive waza-ari throw. Although Gamarra managed a yuko and attempted to gain further advantage on the ground, she was unable to overcome Topolovec.

On her path to the final block, Topolovec recorded two victories and one loss. She defeated the tournament's top seed, Brazil's Gabriele Conceicao, and Panama's Lilian Cordones, before falling to Puerto Rico's Francine Echevarria in the semifinals.
