Tijjani Reijnders scores first goal for Al Qadsiah

Tijjani Reijnders scored his first goal for Al Qadsiah in a 2-0 Saudi Pro League victory against NEOM. The Dutch midfielder, who has Indonesian heritage, opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a strike from outside the penalty area. Mateo Retegui secured the win with a penalty in the 56th minute.

Despite the successful performance, Reijnders faced significant negative social media commentary following a celebratory post on X.

Prior to his move to the Saudi Pro League, Reijnders was a target for several major European clubs. His father, Martin Reijnders, revealed that Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Galatasaray all expressed interest. However, negotiations with Manchester City stalled, as the English club refused to lower their transfer valuation, while other clubs faced financial constraints or only offered loan proposals.
