Tijuana and Hermosillo roll out major road reconstruction projects

Tijuana Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz inspected the reconstruction of a 135‑meter section of Francisco Cárdenas street between Bulevar Salinas and Bulevar Agua Caliente. The work, carried out by the city's Development Territorial and Urban Secretariat, includes 1,550 m² of milling, 120 m² of patching and 1,550 m² of full‑depth rebuilding, and is expected to improve traffic flow for roughly 35,000 residents.

In Hermosillo, Mayor Antonio Astiazarán Gutiérrez supervised the repaving of the Juan Bautista de Escalante (Progreso) boulevard. The 2.58‑km project involves milling the existing surface, laying a new micro‑asphalt layer and will benefit about 85,000 people. The municipality has invested more than 15 million pesos in this stretch, part of a broader program that includes rehabilitation of 18 main streets and a separate 80‑million‑peso effort to address water‑drainage collapses.

Both initiatives aim to enhance urban mobility, safety and the overall quality of life for residents in the respective cities.
