Tijuana and Rosarito face power and water outages

Residents in Tijuana and Playas de Rosarito have reported significant disruptions to electricity and water services following severe weather conditions. High winds, identified as Santa Ana winds reaching speeds of 65 to 100 kilometers per hour, caused power failures across more than 25 neighborhoods, with the East Zone being the most heavily impacted. Reports included downed or leaning utility poles and outages affecting government buildings, including the Municipal Palace.

Despite official statements from the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) claiming that power supply had been fully restored in Baja California, residents continue to report ongoing blackouts in various sectors. In addition to electrical issues, citizens have also denounced the lack of potable water supply in several colonies. Some residents expressed frustration over food spoilage and a lack of compensation for the prolonged service interruptions.
