Tijuana and Tecate launch student health and professional development initiatives
Health and wellness initiatives are being conducted for students in Tijuana and Tecate. The Jurisdicción de Servicios de Salud Tijuana (JSST) has implemented workshops in preschools, primary, and secondary schools. These programs focus on personal hygiene, physical activity, and healthy eating to prevent long-term diseases. Topics covered include hand washing, dental care, and the impact of screen time.
In addition to physical health, sessions in Tecate addressed school bullying with both students and parents. The JSST aims to establish healthy habits from an early age through situational diagnoses, such as monitoring weight and height.
Separately, at CESUN Universidad, psychologist Janeth Zúñiga delivered a lecture on professional development. She encouraged students to build self-confidence and overcome fears, such as the fear of failure or social judgment, which can hinder career decisions and personal projects.
