Tijuana authorities investigate five bodies found in abandoned vehicles
Baja California Attorney General María Elena Andrade Ramírez reported that five bodies were discovered inside abandoned vehicles in the Hipódromo and Lomas de Agua Caliente areas of Tijuana on August 17 and 18.
Investigators have identified a pattern in the movement of four of the vehicles, noting they all followed the same route. The victims, all men, died from various causes including strangulation, sharp force trauma, and gunshot wounds. One victim, a man approximately 35 years old found in a Chrysler 200 with California plates, has been identified following a recent arrest.
Andrade Ramírez stated that a primary line of investigation suggests the victims may have been chosen at random. She noted that the individuals appeared to be in vulnerable conditions or living on the streets, suggesting they were selected because they were unlikely to be claimed quickly. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding these findings.
