Tijuana Council of Peace and Justice convenes, business leaders urge rule of law

The municipal president of Tijuana, Abdiel Gutiérrez Coronado, chaired the inaugural ordinary session of the newly created Council of Peace and Justice Civic. The meeting brought together officials from municipal, state and federal levels, educational institutions and civil‑society representatives. Attendees approved Juan Diego Macareño López as the council’s technical secretary and presented a diagnostic report and work plan aimed at strengthening institutional coordination and preventing violence in the city.

Separately, the Coordinating Business Council of Tijuana (CCE), led by Roberto Lyle Fritch, called on authorities to enforce the rule of law and ensure electoral fairness ahead of upcoming elections. The CCE warned against premature political promotion, urged impartial conduct from public servants and stressed that transparent, legally grounded processes are essential for democracy, competitiveness, security and investment in the region.
