Tijuana councilman accused of sexual assault
Miguel Loza, an independent councilman in Tijuana, Baja California, has been accused of sexual assault by a woman who previously filed a complaint against him in 2024. The victim reported that Loza entered her apartment on September 17, 2026, where she was allegedly beaten, tied with a rope, and threatened.
According to judicial files, investigators have detected seminal fluid as evidence and noted indications of a possible recording of the violent act. The victim stated that the 2024 incident involving Loza resulted in a miscarriage. Loza, a former member of the National Action Party (PAN) who resigned in early 2025, is currently seeking a seat in the legislature for the 2027 elections.
