Tijuana firefighters conduct cliff rescue training and respond to 43 emergencies
Firefighters in Tijuana recently participated in specialized cliff rescue training as part of the 5th International Firefighters Congress. Approximately 50 personnel from various parts of Mexico, including members of the Mazatlán Fire Department, attended the workshop in Playas de Tijuana to improve techniques for difficult-to-access terrain and share logistical strategies.
In a separate series of incidents, the Tijuana Fire Department responded to 43 emergency calls over a 24-hour period between September 24 and 25, 2026. Notable calls included two commercial fires involving air conditioning equipment, a residential fire affecting a mobile home and a vehicle, and a water rescue in Playas de Tijuana where lifeguards saved an adult and three minors trapped by ocean currents.
