Tijuana increases urban maintenance ahead of Sheinbaum visit

Municipal workers and machinery from the Tijuana City Council have increased urban maintenance activities in the Zona Norte and downtown areas. The deployment includes pothole repairs, pavement restoration, and the painting of pedestrian crossings, curbs, and accessibility spaces.

These efforts coincide with the scheduled visit of Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo to Tijuana on September 19, 2026. Sheinbaum is expected to present the results of her Second Government Report during an event on Avenida Revolución. While the sudden visibility of maintenance crews in the Zona Norte—an area that has faced months of infrastructure deterioration—has drawn public attention due to the presidential visit, there is no documented evidence that the works were ordered exclusively because of her arrival.
