Tijuana Little League Wins National Title, Secures Spot in 2026 Little League World Series

The Municipal Little League of Tijuana defeated Matamoros A.C. 8–2 to capture the Mexican national championship for the 11‑12 age category. The victory earned the team the right to represent Mexico at the 2026 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, marking the league's third appearance after 2013 and 2023.

Manager Francisco Fimbres returned to lead the squad, which displayed dominant pitching, solid defense and timely hitting throughout the championship game. The team will travel to the United States for the tournament scheduled for August 19‑30, with its first opponent slated to be the Ryde Little League from Sydney, Australia, on August 20. A win in that opening game would place Mexico directly into the winners bracket; a loss would move the team to the consolation round for a chance to stay alive.

The triumph also served as revenge for Tijuana, which lost the national final to Matamoros in 2022, underscoring its status as a leading force in Mexican youth baseball.
