Jesús García Castro registers for Morena municipal coordination in Tijuana
Jesús García Castro has officially registered his candidacy with the Morena party to run for the municipal coordination of Tijuana. Accompanied by supporters and community leaders, García Castro presented his aspirations at Casa Morena, expressing a commitment to the political project led by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. He emphasized his intention to maintain close ties with community leaders and proposed the implementation of “Brigadas del Pueblo” to address local issues directly.
García Castro, who has previously held roles such as director of the SAT BC and secretary of Government for the Tijuana City Council, stated his goal is to continue the “second floor of the fourth transformation.” His registration event involved significant local presence, including supporters from various neighborhoods and the use of a vehicle as a makeshift podium.
In a separate social initiative in the region, the Tijuana City Council and the Fundación Fuente de Sabiduría have distributed 2,400 educational scholarships to basic and upper-secondary students. This program aims to combat school dropout rates in vulnerable border areas, which are often exacerbated by socioeconomic challenges and migratory pressures.
