Tijuana promotes ‘Mis Vacaciones en la Biblioteca’ program
The Tijuana Municipal Government, through its Secretariat of Culture, has promoted the 2026 edition of the national program ‘Mis Vacaciones en la Biblioteca’ (My Vacations in the Library). The program saw an attendance of over 5,300 participants across 179 workshops held in Tijuana's public libraries.
The demographic breakdown of participants included 4,499 children, 164 youths, 450 adults, and 208 people with disabilities. Activities were designed to foster reading, creativity, and community coexistence through various workshops, including storytelling, crafts, and team-building exercises. Yadira Gutiérrez Avila, the Secretary of Culture for Tijuana, emphasized that public libraries serve as essential spaces for learning and cultural access.
