Tijuana receives donated bicycles and new search commission building
A binational initiative has successfully transported over 400 bicycles from the Nevada desert to Tijuana to support local community needs. The project, driven by the World Bicycle Relief and various organizations, involved volunteers repairing and transporting the bicycles across the border from San Ysidro to the El Chaparral crossing.
Approximately 50 of these bicycles are being donated to search collectives for missing persons, including Una Nación Buscándote. These resources are intended to aid mobility for families and children affected by disappearances.
In a related development to support these efforts, the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territorial Reordering (SIDURT) has begun construction on a new building for the Local Commission for the Search of Persons in Tijuana. The 689-square-meter facility will provide specialized spaces for legal, psychological, and operational support to assist families and victims.
