Tijuana regional leaders hold forums on industrial and metropolitan development

Various stakeholders in the Tijuana region are conducting strategic planning and training sessions to bolster economic competitiveness and infrastructure.

INDEX Zona Costa BC organized the Foreign Trade and Fiscal Forum 2026 to address challenges facing the IMMEX manufacturing sector. The forum focused on topics such as regional content value, US Section 301 taxes, customs reform, and transfer pricing to ensure corporate compliance and competitiveness.

Simultaneously, the Tijuana municipal government held the third public consultation forum for the Tijuana-Tecate-Playas de Rosarito 2040 Strategic Metropolitan Plan. Experts identified critical needs for the region, including water resource management, wastewater treatment, energy supply, and industrial development. A binational wastewater treatment plant was highlighted as a key strategic priority.

To support the labor market, Canacintra Tijuana and Conalep Baja California signed a collaboration agreement. This partnership aims to align technical education with industrial needs, providing students with practical experience in manufacturing companies to ensure a steady supply of skilled talent for the region.
