Claudia Sheinbaum denies U.S. investigation into Baja California Governor

President Claudia Sheinbaum has denied reports of an official investigation by United States authorities into the Governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda. The denial follows publications by Semanario Zeta, which alleged that the Governor and her ex-husband are under investigation for potential links to organized crime.

During her morning press conference, Sheinbaum clarified that the Mexican government has received no formal communication from the U.S. government regarding such an inquiry. She further noted that the Federal Attorney General's Office (FGR) has not reported any related investigations. The President emphasized that any serious allegations must be supported by official information and evidence compatible with the Mexican accusatory penal system.
