Tijuana's CESPT urges proper water‑meter care and rejects water rationing

The Comisión Estatal de Servicios Públicos de Tijuana (CESPT) urged residents to keep water meters free of obstacles, clean, and to report any leaks promptly. Director Mónica Vega Aguirre emphasized that unobstructed meters provide accurate consumption data and help detect unusual usage or faults.

CESPT also ruled out any plans to impose water‑rationing (tandeos) in the city. The agency highlighted ongoing pipe‑replacement work, repairs to the El Carrizo booster system, a new desalination plant, and a cross‑border water connection with the United States as measures to strengthen supply and restore service after recent disruptions. CESPT serves about 750,000 accounts and continues to address intermittent water shortages in several neighborhoods.
